Topic: Homelessness School: Waiākea High School Student: Giovani Malicdem Not only does Gio love barbering, but he’s using his skills to give free haircuts to the homeless in Hilo—in partnership with The Salvation Army. Gio hoped to bring a moment of self care to those that need it most. One cut at a time, one act of aloha at a time. "Shear Aloha". Gio cut the hair of 17 homeless individuals, and made connections and friendships with them while he was at it. |  |
