Strive Aloha

Topic: The Aloha Spirit

Students: Kapolei High School & The CTL Fellows Program

A group of Hawaiʻi teenagers interviewed more than 100 residents to ask a simple question: Is aloha still alive?

The group found that although modern challenges have made aloha harder to practice, it is still alive, carried forward by those who choose to live it daily. The project calls on the next generation to learn and live the aloha spirit. Then, they created an “Aloha Spirit Survey,” a self-reflection tool designed to encourage individuals across the state to live with intention and kindness.

At a time when many Americans are asking how to rebuild trust and community, these young leaders from Hawaiʻi are offering an answer, one conversation, one act of aloha at a time.
