Our Purpose
Eligibility
You must have at least two years of Ambassadors or Fellows; or one year of Ambassadors and/or a support program with summer crash course.
Action Tasks
As part of Vanguard, you must complete 4 simple tasks by June 1, 2024.
- Attend Induction - in person or virtual
- Network with other alumni
- Tell us more about yourself in our annual survey
- Attend or host at least 1 social event either informal or formal

For all the young leaders in the program, Summer in Hawaiʻi gave us the opportunity to understand the issues facing Hawai'i from the perspective of those on the front lines of the issues. We got an unfiltered and authentic peek into the inner-workings of Hawai'i, as well as of the leaders that help run them. In addition, SiH allowed us to expand and cement our roots as local leaders for Hawaii. The invaluable connections we made will help us to find work in the future and will propel us towards making impactful change for Hawaiʻi. The program's ethos of creating leaders for Hawai'i rang true throughout its entirety.

My reasoning for choosing to give back through CTL actually stemmed from my involvement in business...
My reasoning for choosing to give back through CTL actually stemmed from my involvement in business clubs back in college. It was empowering to be part of a community of students who were motivated and driven to achieve. After leaving college, it was hard to find the same level of connection and community. Being part of the Vanguard Advisory Board brought back the same feeling of empowerment and allowed me to re-connect with people from my past, while also bridging outward to a whole network of people who care about Hawaiʻi’s future.
