I applied to the Fellows program because I believe in the power of leadership and community service. The program focuses on developing the next generation of leaders, which aligns with my goal of making a positive impact. Excited to learn, engage, and contribute, joining this fellowship is more than personal development—it's a chance to be part of a community dedicated to creating a brighter future.

I first saw the Fellows present their projects at Vision Lab 2020, and being able to talk to the different Fellows that all covered unique issues going on in Hawaii was inspiring. Then, I was in the process of filling out my application last year when the program was canceled. Being able to finally participate in this program myself is exciting!

I applied for the Fellows program because I want to work with teenage leaders from throughout the state with different backgrounds and stories. When pushing for change to tackle Hawaii's most pressing issues, being able to evaluate proposals and solutions with support from diverse sets of eyes will help lead me in the right direction now and in the future.

I decided to join the fellows program to not only grow as a leader, but as a person as whole, whether it be through the program itself, or the connections I've made through it.

I want to experience working with different leaders my age, who are fighting for the same vision of Hawaii. To come together with our own sets of experiences to initiate an impactful change, that will positively shape Hawai'i's future.

I applied to the Fellows program because a few of my friends were Fellows in the previous years and they recommended I try out. I was also a part of the Pacific and Asian Affairs Council’s Global Leadership Program last year and I thought that the Fellows program could help me continue my work with solving Hawaii's issues and expand my leadership skills. I always enjoy meeting new people and from the few times we have met so far, I love all the Fellows and can’t wait to keep working with them on making state-wide change. They all are as passionate and committed to our work as I am so I am so grateful to create the “high water mark” with them.
